Books read this week:
This week my reading and blogging has been slow – but this is because we have a visitor and will also have another visitor next week so time seems to simply fly. I’m still listening to Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry – I’m going to go against popular opinion with this one and say I’ve not fully bought into this one yet. There’s still time though so who knows. I finished Swordheart by T Kingfisher and absolutely loved it, so I now have two series that I’m desperate to continue with – both by Kingfisher. I am now reading A Far Better Thing by HG Parry – and I’m loving it. I’ve literally read over 30% in one sitting so I think I’ll make good progress with this one.
Next Week’s Reads:
Hoping to complete A Far Better Thing by HG Parry, I’m also confident that I can fit Paved With Good Intentions by Peter McLean in, and time allowing I’ll be listening to some more of Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry.

That’s it for me this week, what have you been up to, any good books to shout out about. Let me know.

Glad you loved Swordheart! I knew I should have picked up A Far Better Thing – It sounded so good but I didn’t want to get bogged down with books in June because July was going to be so busy.
Yeah, I totally get it. I’ve missed out on a few books recently that sounded so good for the same reasons.
Lynn 😀
Swordheart has such a lovely cover, it’s so detailed.
I’ll be interested in what you make of Shield of Sparrows in the end as I’ve seem nothing but positive comments so far.
I loved Swordheart and can’t wait to read more.
Shield of Sparrows I’m liking but not loving it. It’s inducing a few eye rolls.
Lynn 😀
I renjoyed Shield of Sparrows but there were totally elements in it that annoyed me which I wouldn’t be surprised if they annoyed others as well. Curious to hear what’s working for you but also what’s not.
To be honest the main female character annoys me a little. I haven’t quite put my finger on anything yet and perhaps in a different mood I would love this but to me it feels like she whines a lot. And, I think I’m also not really loving the Guardian. He always turns up, lounging casually against a tree or something and I just think hmpf. It must be a mood thing.
Lynn 😀
Curious to see how you end up with Shield of Sparrows. And I haven’t been able to get to A Far Better Thing so I must squeeze it in soon. Enjoy your visitors😁
Thanks – it’s exhausting but fun.
