Books read this week:
This week my reading has been great. I mean, to be clear, I’ve not read massive amounts but I’m enjoying the books I’m reading. I have been busy for other reasons and so that has slowed me down – but it’s an improvement that I’m loving the books. So, I’m still listening to Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry. I like this , I do have the occasional eye role – but, it is entertaining. To be fair, I haven’t had as much time for listening this week so I’ve not made great headway – probably still about 9 hours of listening remaining. I finished The Bodies by Sam Lloyd which I enjoyed, although it was one of those books that was chaotic, everything kept escalating to the point I almost wanted the author to give me a break. I’m also reading Swordheart by T Kingfisher – which I’m frankly adoring. Literally, the main problem for me at the moment is lack of time.
Next Week’s Reads:
Aiming to complete Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry and Swordheart by T Kingfisher. Then I might be looking at either – A Far Better thing by H G Parry or Paved With Good Intentions by Peter McLean – two books that I am really looking forward to so that’ll be a difficult choice. Maybe I’ll just start both.

That’s it for me this week, what have you been up to, any good books to shout out about. Let me know.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying your reading so much again. I’m in search of my next 5 star read so will look out for your reviews, especially for Swordheart, which sounds like a lot of fun.
The Peter McLean book sounds good but have just looked it up and realise it’s part of a series. Will have to find out more about book 1 😀
I seem to have some good books at the moment which is great. The Peter Mclean book is set in the same world as his Priest of Bones series but it’s based on a female character from that series and it takes us back to her earlier years – so, in fact you don’t need to have read the series in order to pick this up – in fact you could get an idea of whether or not it’s a series you might like.
Lynn 😀
And so yet another book was added to an already endless TBR list (and if I do enjoy it the inevitable will happen and I’ll probably want to read them all) 😀
I didn’t know Peter McLean had a new book, I need to look into it👑
Yes, his new book is set in the same world as the Priest of Bones series but it’s about the female character and it takes a look at her past.
Lynn 😀
Reading has been slow for me too, in the number of books finished. I still read a lot but I find myself sampling books before I commit fully and yet still have a couple of dnfs. Maybe it’s the distractions of summer, but I find myself a lot less patient or willing to put up with books that just aren’t hooking me.
Yes, I’m feeling the same and I always give a book at least 30% before I put it down so its very time consuming having dnfs.
