Today I’m returning to the Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy). I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner. This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers. Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). . So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite. If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.
This week I’ve chosen a book that I recently read and absolutely loved – review to follow soon. Paladins Grace by T Kingfisher.
Here are the covers:
It’s difficult to choose this week. The first cover is my style really so I automatically veer to it. The colours are gorgeous and I love the little details such as the knitting needles. But, having said that I really like the second cover, even though it’s not really my usual style, it sticks with the purple theme and it’s so cute. I have to choose though so.
My favourite this week: (sorry, I couldn’t resist)
Which is your favourite?
Join me next week in highlighting one of your reads with different covers.

I agree with everything you say here. They are both so beautiful! And they are also a good fit for the book, but if I have to choose I will pick the same one!
It was difficult to choose and good to have two really lovely covers that fit the story so well.
Lynn 😀
I think I would choose the same as you, as that’s also more my style – however, I do think the kind of ‘retro’ feel of the other cover is great!
Yes, you’ve completely hit the nail on the head with the retro feel. And it really does work with the story – which is just wonderful.
Lynn 😀
Ive recently been seeing the new covers all over Instagram and they’ve totally won me over 😂 in general I’d say the first is usually more my style though. I also majorly need to check this series, and author in general, out.
I’m loving her work. Yes, I do love the first but the second is probably more my usual style.
