Friday Face Off: Spellbound by Georgia Leighton

FFO

Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). . So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This week I’ve chosen a book that I’m looking forward to reading.  Spellbound by George Leighton.  Here are the covers:

My favourite this week:

I have to confess that I’m rather fascinated by this cover.

Have you read this book already?  What did you think and which is your favourite?

Join me next week in highlighting one of your reads with different covers.

I think I prefer the first one, but both of them are beautiful! 😍

Yes, the first would normally be my automatic go to but I love that second cover, it’s so unusual.

This is such a tough choice. I love both but the first one is a bit more to my liking.

Yeah, the first would normally be my absolute first choice but the other is so unusual, it draws me in completely.

I think I prefer the first one but it’s literally down to the fact that black covers don’t really say fairytale retelling to me whilst the reddy pink one does. The actual cover design of the second with the sea and gold details looks stunning.

It’s a tough choice, because I do really like both, and you’re right now I think about it – that second cover doesn’t really scream ‘fairytale’ retelling does it. But it does fascinate me.

I definitely understand why and I do love the style of the sea in that one 🥰

I prefer that darker cover too. Aesthetically it just seems more attractive and also more balanced.

Yeah, and it really pulls me in. I really like it.

Both of these are actually so nice, but I prefer the first one better!

So far, I’ve done 3, so I’m on a three week streak!

Woohoo – I can’t wait to see your choices.

The first one seems to be the general consensus this week – but I still can’t resist that second cover.
