Weekly Wrap Up : 25th November 2018

Hope everyone’s had a good week. The temperature has dropped suddenly, I feel like Christmas is only round the corner and, of course, I’m not at all organised. Not a problem, Christmas Eve is the perfect day for getting ready I always feel. So, I’ve read two books this week and I’m over half into a third so a good deal of reading, and I’ve managed to catch up with a few reviews.

Books and travelling with Lynn 
I’ve been struggling with reading this weekend, which is a bummer because here in the US it’s Thanksgiving and we’ve had a four day weekend! Maybe it’s my mood but everything I’ve read lately has been just ok for me.
It’s such a let down when all your reads are just ‘meh’ it puts me off reading. I’ve been really busy too the past few days – I sometimes think every time I’m getting ahead chaos rears its ugly head.

Curious to see what you thought of Empress. My mistake was reading it so soon after Shadow of the Fox, I couldn’t stop comparing the two!
Yeah, the two have come out rather close together. I liked it but didn’t love it which is a shame, certain aspects were brilliant.
The ending also felt very rushed somehow.

It sounds like everyone is behind right now haha. Where have these last two months gone?!?! It feels like Halloween was yesterday!! What kind of “getting ready” do you do on Christmas Eve? My lack of Organization revolves around buying Christmas presents so I probably shouldn’t wait till Christmas Eve to do that 😂😂
I do lots on Christmas Eve – mainly because the time just sneaks up on me.

I still need to read Record of a Spaceborn Few, looking forward to hearing your thoughts (expect we;ll both love it like everyone else)
I really enjoyed it. My favourite is still the second in the set but this one was really good, great characters and a really strong family and community style focus.

Glad to hear you’re catching up on things! I’m interested to hear your thoughts on Empress of All Seasons as I’ve heard mixed things. Right now I’m reading Roar of Sky by Beth Cato and enjoying it a lot!
Haha – yeah, I may have just jinxed myself with that comment. Empress of All Seasons was not a bad read but I didn’t love it. I really enjoyed certain aspects but there was something stopping me from completely falling for it and the ending felt a little rushed.
