Weekly Wrap Up : 13/8/17
I’ve had a great week and hope you all have too. In fairness, I’ve not been brilliant with my reading because there’s been such a lot going on in my personal life but it’s all good – socialising and visiting relatives is always good.
Anyway, hope you all had an enjoyable week. Here are my books:
- Princess of Blood by Tom Lloyd – I did start this one a couple of weeks ago and the fact I’m behind is not a reflection of the book – simply that I’ve not had much sit down time.
- Snowspelled by Stephanie Burgis
I’m still reading Naamah’s Blessing by Jacqueline Carey, this is for a readalong that I’m behind for but hoping to catch up soon. I’m also still listening to Neil Gaiman’s American Gods and loving it.
Next week I’m hoping to read:
- The Turn by Kim Harrison
- The Curious Affair of the Witch of Wayside Cross by Lisa Tuttle
- Swarm and Steel by Michael R Fletcher
Cover compare:
For me the second cover is the winner – I love these dramatic covers.
How was your week? What you currently reading?
13 August 2017
This week I finished my re-read of Northern Lights by Philip Pullman and I started reading historical fiction The Girl in the Glass Tower by Elizabeth Fremantle. Happy reading! 🙂
You too Jessica.
Lynn 😀
I like the second cover of The Witch… too – very dramatic! Happy reading!
Those covers are so lovely. The first book in the series had an equally good cover in red.
Lynn 😀
I tried reading American Gods many years ago and didn’t finish. I might see if my library has the audio to listen to.
Thiis is so well done – it’s the tenth anniversary edition and has a large cast reading – I’m loving it so far, about 50% in.
Lynn 😀
I’m currently knocking out a book that has been on my TBR list since I joined Goodreads in 2013, Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament. It’s sarcastic and fun.
Sounds great – hope you love it.
Lynn 😀
I’ve never heard of the Lisa Tuttle book, I need to look it up. I also love the second cover:-) Good luck with your reading, I’ve been slacking off too, just too much real life stuff to do lately!
Real life just takes first place doesn’t it – this is a hobby after all and I love it but sometimes I just have to take care of other things.
Lynn 😀
I love both covers for the Lisa Tuttle novel, and in truth I cannot decide between them…
The one on the left has that very dramatic Celtic Cross in the foreground, whose greenish color is quite suggestive, while the one on the right draws my attention because of both raven and moon. Choices… Choices… 😀
It’s always good to have choices 😀
I haven’t ever read anything by Lisa Tuttle, but I love the sound of this one… Glad you had such a great week last week, Lynn and hope this one is as convivial:)
I’m excited to read this one. I read the first one a short while ago and while it had a slight ‘set up’ feel I’m hoping the series will really find it’s feet.
Lynn 😀
I certainly love the sound of it:)
The Witch at Wayside Cross looks great and I agree, I like the second cover better as well.
I really enjoyed it – my review will be up soon.
Lynn 😀
This time of year socializing seems to take over reading time, but I don’t mind it! It’s always nice to hang out a bit and have a small break. 🙂 I love those Lisa Tuttle covers! Fingers crossed book 2 in the series is a great read.
Such a lot going on at the moment the weeks are all blending into one. I really enjoyed the Tuttle book and the covers are great.
Lynn 😀
