The Classics Spin – final book choice

Okay, so yesterday I posted about a challenge being hosted by the Classics Club which I thought was a good idea to get me to read at least one of my long neglected books.  Anyway, I selected my 20 and posted them yesterday.  The winning number is 14 – so: The Ghosts of Sleath by James Herbert it is.

I must confess.  My biggest fear was : Les Miserables – don’t ask me why because I think it’s a great story – it’s just so mammoth!  My secret hope  was No.20 – Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.

Hope everybody got something they’ll love.

I hope you enjoy. I was really hoping you didn’t get Les Mis either–such a mammoth of a book you should really want to read it when you have loads of time. I haven’t read it yet–but will at some point

I think I might have to read Les Mis in stages over the period of a couple of years! I’m looking forward to The Ghosts of Sleath – I’m hoping it’s going to be creepy! I’m thinking of coming up with a few classics I want to read and joining in with the Classics Club. It’s a really nice idea. I’ve already read a lot of classics because it’s practically all I was exposed to early on in life (basically all my dad’s books and he wasn’t exactly big on contemporary novels or chick lits! – at least he got me in to fantasy thanks to all his Tolkien books).

I loved Something Wicked This Way Comes! Hopefully The Ghosts of Sleath will be another great read, I haven’t read it so I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

I really want to read it – I just like the name!! I’m going to have to join the Classics Club and put some titles down I think.
