Well, this has been a very odd week, not very conducive to reading or blogging or anything else really.  I hope you’re all doing everything you can to stay safe.  In my reading plans.  I started Rage of Dragons but was struggling a little to get into the story so I’ve put that down for now. I think it’s probably just a mood thing.  I read Smoke Bitten which was a really good instalment in the Mercy Thompson series. Keep Him Close – I’ve decided to DNF this one.  It’s not a bad book so please don’t be put off by me, I just don’t think I was in the right frame of mind for this one, it’s more drama than mystery.  I’ve now picked up You Let Me In which is good so far and I’m also about 2/3 into The God of Gnomes which I should complete in the next few days.

  1. Smoke Bitten by Patricia Briggs
  2. Keep Him Close by Emily Koch DNF

What I’m reading next week:

  1. The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
  2. You Let Me in by Camilia Bruce
  3. Night Of The Dragon by Julie Kagawa

Upcoming Reviews:

  1. King of the Road by RS Belcher
  2. The Absinthe Earl by Sharon Lynn Fisher
  3. King of Assassins by RJ Barker
  4. Starsight by Brandon Sanderson (audio) – I have made progress and I’m really enjoying it so should finish it probably Monday.

I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.

It certainly has been an odd week and one where I have found it hard to read and blog, too. However I did manage to finish reading The Marvelous Land of Oz by Frank L Baum and now I am reading The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale. Some good magical escapism is just what I have needed.

Keep yourself safe Lynn and keep reading! 🙂

I thought Night of the Dragons was pretty good. I hadn’t read the other two but that never stops me. I did skim through the first two and felt pretty comfortable going into this third one. It has a beautiful cover and a beautiful story ❤️

I’ve been struggling with concentrating on reading too. I’ve put aside one book and picked up something light that I knew would be easy to read, When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey. It seems to be doing the trick, plus it’s short😁 Stay safe and happy reading!

A shame to hear about Keep Him Close as I was actually curious about that one! I know you said it might be just you, but you and I tend to share the same tastes especailly in mystery/thrillers, so thanks for your warning, I may take a pass on it after all. Besides, there are tons more thrillers on my TBR waiting to be checked out 😀

It’s definitely been an odd week and I’ve also been finding it hard to settle on something new to read at the moment. I might try something light for a change, see if that helps.

Yes, a very odd week indeed! It’s crazy how quickly things have changed. Totally feel you on the having a tough time concentrating on reading–I can’t seem to stop myself from looking at the news every few minutes. Stay safe, Lynn!

It’s strange, indeed, that now that we have much more time for reading because we’re housebound, we find so little inspiration to do it… It somehow reminds me of a certain episode from The Outer Limits of old… 😉
